On March 4, OCN announced that it will broadcast the 98th Academy Awards live on TV and Tving at 8 a.m. KST on March 16, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, United States. The event will be hosted by film critic Lee Dongjin, broadcaster Ahn Hyunmo, and pop columnist Kim Taehun.


The most attention-grabbing film is "Sinners," directed by Ryan Coogler. The movie has secured nominations in sixteen categories, including Best Picture and Best Director. It has broken the record for the most nominations in 28 years, previously held by "All About Eve" and "Titanic" with fourteen nominations each.


"One Battle After Another," directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who won six British Academy Awards, will compete fiercely in thirteen categories.


"Frankenstein" by Guillermo del Toro is nominated in nine categories. "Marty Supreme" by Josh Safdie, "Sentimental Value" by Joachim Trier, and "Hamnet" by Chloe Zhao will each compete in eight categories.


K-content will also vie for awards in major categories. "Save the Green Planet," remade in 2003 by director Yorgos Lanthimos as "Bugonia," has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Original Score, and Best Adapted Screenplay. The Netflix film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" is aiming for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
