On March 2 (local time), the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah launched strikes against Israel in retaliation for the United States and Israel's attacks on Iran. In response, Israel immediately carried out airstrikes across various locations in Lebanon, with both sides continuing to exchange fire.

원본보기 아이콘According to major international news agencies such as AFP and Reuters, Hezbollah announced that, overnight, it had launched rockets and drones toward Israel in retaliation for the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a statement released that day, Hezbollah declared, "We have launched missiles and drones in retaliation for the pure blood of Khamenei, to defend Lebanon and its people, and in response to Israel's repeated attacks."
The Israeli military also announced that it immediately launched counterattacks, carrying out airstrikes against Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon.
As a result, witnesses reported hearing multiple explosions in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
In a statement released that day, the Israeli military said, "In response to Hezbollah's shelling targeting Israel, we have begun striking Hezbollah terrorist group targets across Lebanon."
