The briefing was organized to hear Woori Bank's concrete business implementation plans and to review systematic administrative support procedures so that the large-scale, future-oriented advanced facilities can be established in a timely manner.
The "AI Digital Universe," which will be built on Site Jajok-8 in the Wangsuk High-Tech Industrial Complex, is a large-scale project with a total investment of approximately 850 billion won.
The plan is to begin Phase 1 construction at the end of this year and to complete the establishment of an AI Operations Center and a hyperscale (ultra-large) AI Center by 2029.
In particular, more than 300 AI and IT experts from within the group will be stationed at the AI Operations Center, and various facilities that coexist with the local community will be created together, including "Dino Lab," a startup incubation space, and "Woori FIS Academy," which is dedicated to nurturing young talent.
The AI Center will also adopt smart energy management technologies to optimize its power usage effectiveness (PUE) and will introduce a wide range of eco-friendly technologies, such as using reclaimed wastewater as cooling water.
In addition to building this center, Woori Bank has been steadily expanding its partnership with Namyangju City, setting an example of mutual growth with the local community.
In December last year, Woori Bank opened the "WOORI Senior IT Happiness Learning Center" at Dasan Senior Welfare Center, taking the lead in bridging the digital divide in the local community.

The large-scale training facilities, which will be used by more than 14,000 employees, are expected to provide a strong boost to the local economy.
Based on this solid cooperation, Woori Bank plans to contribute to building a practical "virtuous economic ecosystem" by prioritizing products from local small and medium-sized enterprises when constructing the AI Digital Universe and by providing financial support to companies moving into the Wangsuk High-Tech Industrial Complex.
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok said, "Woori Financial Group's AI Digital Universe will become a key driving force in enhancing Namyangju City's competitiveness in future industries," adding, "We will fully play our role as the best partner so that related administrative procedures, including permits and approvals, can be carried out swiftly."
