Lotte Hotels & Resorts announced on the 19th that it has reopened the Ramada Plaza Chungjang Hotel in Dong-gu, Gwangju, after rebranding it as "L7 Chungjang by Lotte Hotel."
With this expansion into Gwangju, Lotte Hotels & Resorts has completed a nationwide hotel network that spans from Seoul to Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongsang, and Jeju. L7 Chungjang by Lotte Hotel reflects Gwangju's young and dynamic urban sensibility. The large mural on the hotel exterior, which immediately catches visitors' eyes, encapsulates the history of democratization through metaphorical devices and symbolic expressions. The various symbols and forms within the mural artistically reinterpret Gwangju's historical identity by encompassing pain and sacrifice, life and solidarity, and everyday life that continues on, so that while remembering the past, both present and future generations can relate to it.
Artist Choi Ulga, who participated in this project, is a leading master of our time who has broadened the horizons of contemporary Korean art through an original sculptural language and intense energy. The spatial design was realized under the concept of "The Urban Canvas." Using the streets, people, and energy of Chungjang, where fashion, food, and culture naturally blend together, as a single canvas, the hotel infused an urban sensibility into every corner of the property.
The hotel spans from two basement levels to 13 above-ground floors and has a total of 95 rooms, along with various ancillary facilities such as a banquet hall and fitness center. In addition, it operates "Floating," a breakfast and caf? space on the first floor, and "Ban Ri Xian," a Chinese restaurant on the third floor, offering a differentiated gastronomic experience not only to guests but also to local customers.
A representative of Lotte Hotels & Resorts said, "We plan to continuously strengthen our brand competitiveness with L7 Chungjang by Lotte Hotel as a key hub."
