The Changgyeonggung Palace Management Office of the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center announced on the 19th that it will hold an event titled "Jeongwol Daeboreum, the Full Moon Descends on Changgyeonggung Palace" throughout Changgyeonggung Palace from the 24th to March 2 to celebrate the first full moon of the lunar year.
From 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., a large full-moon installation will be set up around Punggidae Pavilion to welcome visitors. On the 24th and 25th, a "celestial observation event" will also be held in front of Yanghwadang Hall in collaboration with the Seoul Municipal Science Museum. Anyone can participate without prior reservation, but the event will be canceled in case of rain or cloudy weather.
An online participation event will also take place. Visitors can enter by posting photos or videos taken with the moon installation as the background on their personal social media accounts with the hashtag #ChanggyeonggungFullMoon. Ten winners will be selected by lottery and will receive small commemorative gifts. The winners will be announced on March 11.
