Gyeonggi Indie Music Festival to Be Held in Suwon This Year

Suwon-si in Gyeonggi Province has been selected as the host city for the 2026 Gyeonggi Indie Music Festival.

The Gyeonggi Indie Music Festival, organized by Gyeonggi Province, is one of the province's flagship cultural events, providing performance opportunities for indie artists and offering audiences the chance to enjoy a wide variety of music.

During the festival, Suwon-si will present a diverse lineup of performances, including indie musician contests, performances by popular musicians, and busking performances. Experience booths will also be operated.

Suwon-si will link this year's festival with the 2026-2027 Visit Suwon Years initiative and stage it as a mega event.

In particular, the city plans to design festival programs that combine Suwon's unique cultural assets with its musical sensibility, providing audiences with a rich array of attractions.

Lee Jaejun, Mayor of Suwon, said, "I expect that the Gyeonggi Indie Music Festival will meet citizens' diverse cultural needs and serve as an opportunity to elevate Suwon-si's cultural stature to the next level."

Last year's festival was held at the end of September at Jeongjohyo Park. This year's festival schedule has not yet been decided.
