Any resident living in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province can take part, and residents may submit their opinions on next year's budget either by directly proposing projects or by participating in an online vote to determine project priorities.
Project proposals can be submitted via the Jumin e-Participation website, by mail, or by visiting in person. Proposals can still be submitted after the official application period; however, to be reflected in the 2027 budget, they must be submitted by May 20.
The scope of eligible projects is limited to single-year projects with a total project cost of up to 5 billion won, and they must be projects necessary in daily life that aim to improve residents' quality of life in areas such as safety, welfare, education, and the economy.
Resident-proposed projects received through this call will be reviewed by the relevant departments and then reflected in the 2027 budget request after going through an online vote scheduled for September and deliberation by the Resident Participation Budget Committee. The final decision on whether they are included in the 2027 budget will be made through a resolution by the provincial council.
The province plans to promote the call for proposals through its website, social media, and news outlets during the application period so that more residents can participate.
An official from the province said, "We ask for your interest and active participation so that residents' opinions can be reflected in the budget."
