The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on February 18 that it will provide up to 30 million won in support for exemplary apartment complexes, designated as "Model Management Complexes," to enhance the welfare of multi-family housing management workers and promote harmony among residents.
The eligible recipients are multi-family housing complexes in Seoul that are subject to mandatory management. They must have usage records in 2025 for "S-APT," an electronic approval system for efficient apartment management, and their apartment management regulations must include provisions on "preventing workplace harassment of workers." Selected complexes can autonomously carry out projects tailored to their characteristics, such as installing air conditioners and air purifiers in rest areas for management workers, repairing community facilities such as senior centers and purchasing shared equipment, and operating programs to revitalize the community.
Multi-family housing complexes wishing to participate must complete an application form jointly in the name of the residents' representative council and the management entity (management office) and submit it to the relevant district office between February 19 and March 13.
Now in its fifth year, the support program for Model Management Complexes in multi-family housing began with 31 complexes in 2022, and by 2025 a total of 159 model complexes have received subsidies. Over the past four years, approximately 3.7 billion won has been provided to 317 complexes.
Choi Jinseok, Director of Housing Policy at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "Multi-family housing management workers are important members who ensure residents' safety and create a pleasant living environment," adding, "We will actively identify and support model complexes so that a work environment in which management workers are respected can be created, and communication and harmony among members of multi-family housing can be promoted."
