Gakbuk-myeon in Cheongdo County (headed by Jeong Kyung-suk) carried out a "Welfare Helper Sharing Love" initiative on the 12th, ahead of Seollal, the biggest traditional holiday, for vulnerable residents in the township.
This initiative was conducted by having Gakbuk-myeon staff form one-on-one partnerships with households of seniors living alone and people with disabilities in the area, and visiting them in person.
Despite the holiday, the staff volunteered to act as "children for a day" for neighbors in welfare blind spots who would otherwise have to spend the time alone.

They did more than simply deliver goods; they also carefully checked the seniors' health conditions and spent time talking with them, providing emotional support.
One senior who received a visit said, "I am so grateful that, even in the midst of your busy schedules, you always take such good care of me like your own child, and you feel as close as real family."
Jeong Kyung-suk, head of Gakbuk-myeon, said, "We carried out this Welfare Helper activity in the hope that it would provide at least a little help to neighbors in need during the Seollal holiday," adding, "We will continue to work to improve social welfare in the local community."
