This agreement was prepared to activate human and material exchanges between farmers' organizations in the two regions and to establish a sustainable and future-oriented agricultural cooperation system. Through this, the counties plan to promote not only increased income and improved welfare for farmers, but also stronger competitiveness in local agriculture.

At the signing ceremony, heads of the Agricultural Technology Centers of Sunchang County and Damyang County, as well as representatives of major farmers' organizations from both counties, including the Korea Rural Leaders Association, the Korea Rural Women’s Living Improvement Association, the 4-H Headquarters, the 4-H Federation, and the Korea Association of Future Farmers and Agricultural Managers, attended and reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation.

Under the agreement, the two counties will promote joint projects in various fields, including mutual exchanges related to County Residents’ Day and flagship festivals, as well as farmers’ events; exchanges of information on sustainable agricultural technologies; linkages of healing, experiential, and ecological agriculture programs; cooperation in promoting and selling local agricultural specialty products; promotion of and mutual donations to the Hometown Love Donation Program; and cooperation in jointly attracting a horse racing park.

In particular, the two counties plan to focus on achieving tangible results that can be felt in the agricultural field by moving beyond formal exchanges to practical exchanges and on-site cooperation projects led by farmers' organizations.

Seol Soon-woong, head of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "This agreement is a meaningful first step in which farmers' organizations in neighboring regions take the lead in seeking mutual development," adding, "We will continue to work actively for strengthening farmers' capabilities and the sustainable development of local agriculture through close cooperation with Damyang County."

Meanwhile, taking this agreement as a starting point, Sunchang County and Damyang County plan to promote regular mutual visits and joint events, and to gradually expand the areas of cooperation.
