Dongjak District Office Transforms into Indoor Theme Park for Lunar New Year Holiday

Cultural Performances, Traditional Games, and Holiday Food Market from February 14 to 18

To celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday, Dongjak District in Seoul (District Mayor Park Ilha) will operate the district office building as an indoor theme park called "Dongjak Star Park." It will run from February 14 to 18, 2026, and will be closed on Lunar New Year's Day. The district plans to expand the family-oriented experience programs of the theme park, which attracted more than 15,000 visitors during last year's Chuseok holiday.

During last year's Chuseok holiday, many residents participated in and enjoyed themselves at a theme park held at Dongjak District Office. Provided by Dongjak District Office.

The district will divide the first basement level of the office building into four zones: Star Stage, Star Play Zone, Star Food Zone, and Star Coexistence Zone.

At Star Stage, interactive cultural performances such as bubble shows and magic shows will take place. Star Play Zone will feature a traditional play area including a large slide called "Dongjak Star," a giant Yutnori board game, Jegichagi, and more. There will also be arcade machines and a sand playground for children, an open class for "Dubai Jjondeuk Cookie Making" operated on a reservation basis, and a Hanbok photo zone.

In Star Food Zone, a holiday food market will be held, offering items such as rice cakes and pancakes, while Star Coexistence Zone will host a dalgona candy-making experience and promotional booths providing information on more than 400 job opportunities.

Star Stage will operate from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Star Play Zone will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Dongjak Star from 11:00 a.m.). Star Food Zone and Star Coexistence Zone will open from 11:00 a.m. and may close early if ingredients run out.

Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak District, said, "Last Chuseok, many residents visited the open theme park, and this year we have expanded it with a larger space and more diverse programs. I hope you will spend a warmer and more abundant holiday than ever at Dongjak District Office, where you can enjoy the festivities with your family without worrying about the cold."
