More than 150 admitted students from the Gangwon region participated in the event.
The program consisted of special lectures by experts in the fields of career development and psychology, as well as academic guidance. In Part 1, cognitive psychologist Professor Kim Kyungil delivered a lecture on the concept of metacognition and the psychological attitudes needed for university life under the theme “Perhaps We Have Been Doing Things and Behaving Backwards.” In Part 2, football commentator Park Moonsung spoke on the theme “Compete With Your True Self,” sharing his own career transition case to convey the importance of self-directed career planning.
In the following session, guidance on academic regulations and systems was provided to deliver essential information on university life, such as course registration. There was also a campus tour led directly by senior students and a “Conversation With Seniors,” during which participants shared study know-how and campus life experiences.
Shim Songyong, Dean of Admissions at Hallym University, said, “The purpose of this program is to help local students understand the overall aspects of university life and to enable them to settle in quickly after admission,” adding, “We plan to continue operating a wide range of support programs so that regional talent can grow with a sense of belonging.”
