Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol) announced that it will be recruiting applicants for the “Goryeong County Youth Monthly Rent Housing Support Program” until Wednesday, February 25, so that young people can settle in the region without worrying about housing costs.
The recruitment targets are single-person households of young people aged 18 to 45 and newlywed young couples. In the case of newlyweds, they can apply regardless of whether they have children, as long as it is within seven years from the date of marriage registration.
Eligibility requirements are a household income at or below 180% of the national median income, and anyone who is a nationwide non-homeowner residing in a house with a lease deposit of 50 million won or less and a monthly rent of 600,000 won or less can apply.
Young people who wish to apply can submit their applications online via the Goryeong County Office website, or visit the Population Policy Office of the Goryeong County Office to submit their application forms in person. Detailed information can be found in the notices and announcements section on the Goryeong County Office website.
In addition to the Youth Monthly Rent Housing Support Program, applications are also being accepted for the Youth Startup Space Remodeling Support Project, Youth Community Activity Support, and the Youth Job Public Internship Program. With the goal of realizing a “Young Goryeong,” the county is accelerating the implementation of customized policies that comprehensively cover all aspects of young people’s lives.
An official from Goryeong County emphasized, “We will do our utmost to ease the financial burden on young people and lay the foundation on which they can plan for their future,” adding, “We will continue to identify practical support measures so that young people, who are the future of Goryeong, can put down stable roots in the region and grow into its leading players.”
