Yangju City will hold the ‘March 1st Independence Movement Day Commemorative Byeolsanrun’ from 8:00 a.m. on March 1 in the Garaebi area of Gwangjeok-myeon.

Byeolsanrun is a citizen-participation running event being held for the second time this year, following its inaugural edition last year, and the city plans to develop it into sustainable content.

This running event has been planned to honor the spirit of the independence demonstration that took place in Garaebi, Gwangjeok-myeon. Participants will carry Taegeukgi flags and run a 3.1 km course together with Byeolsan, allowing them to experience the meaning of March 1st Independence Movement Day firsthand.

The starting point is in front of Yangju Cooperative Call Taxi in Gwangjeok-myeon (28 Samil-ro, Gwangjeok-myeon), and applications can be submitted from February 9 to 25 via the QR code on the Byeolsanrun promotional poster. All participants will receive a finisher’s gift, ‘Dujjonku (Dubai Chewy Cookie)’.

This event will be produced as video content and will be released through the ‘YouTube Yangju Byeolsan’ channel.

Public Relations Officer Kim Youngjun said, “Byeolsanrun is content in which citizens are the main protagonists,” adding, “As we continue to hold more editions, we will grow it into a brand and expand it into a variety of citizen-participation content.”
