Lotte World Tower Partner at 555m Now Joins Seongsu District 4...Lotte Construction and LERA Team Up

"'Seongsu LE-EL' as a top-tier residential complex"

Lotte Construction announced on the 9th that it will collaborate with LERA, a global structural design specialist company, in the redevelopment bidding for District 4 of the Seongsu Strategic Maintenance Zone in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The strategy is aimed at securing structural stability for the super high-rise complex, which will reach up to 64 stories above ground.

LERA is a company that has been responsible for the structural design of major super high-rise buildings around the world, including the World Trade Center in New York, the Emirates Towers in Dubai, and Merdeka 118 in Malaysia. It has more than 60 years of business history and is particularly strong in designing structural systems that respond to external loads such as wind and earthquakes. The company has already collaborated with Lotte Construction on the structural design of the Lotte World Tower (555 meters), the tallest building in Korea, and the Busan Lotte Tower.

Through this collaboration, Lotte Construction plans to apply structural solutions based on a detailed analysis of the ground conditions in Seongsu District 4 and the wind loads along the Han River. A representative of Lotte Construction said, "By leveraging the technological capabilities and know-how gained from constructing the Lotte World Tower, the tallest super high-rise building in Korea, for the structural design of the Seongsu District 4 super high-rise complex, we will complete 'Seongsu LE-EL' as a world-class hyper-end residential complex."

Considered the "largest redevelopment project in northern Seoul," Seongsu District 4 is a large-scale redevelopment project that will create a total of 1,439 housing units in buildings ranging from 6 floors underground to 64 floors above ground in the Seongsu-dong 2-ga area. The projected construction cost amounts to 1.3628 trillion won. Although six companies, including Daewoo E&C, Lotte Construction, DL E&C, SK Ecoplant, HDC Hyundai Development Company, and Kumho Construction, attended the site briefing for the selection of the construction company, only two companies, Daewoo E&C and Lotte Construction, actually paid the bid deposit of 50 billion won by the deadline on the 5th. According to the maintenance industry, the general meeting to select the construction company is scheduled to be held next month.
