The kickoff briefing was attended by members of the Pocheon Commercial Revitalization Council, representatives of local merchants, members of the Pocheon City Council, and heads of relevant municipal departments, who received an explanation of the background and objectives of the research project, its scope of work, and the future implementation schedule, while also collecting a wide range of on-site opinions.

Through this research project, Pocheon City plans to conduct an analysis of current conditions and a diagnosis of issues across all commercial districts within the city, and, based on the findings, to systematically establish a practical mid- to long-term comprehensive development plan. In particular, the city intends to focus on preparing an effective implementation plan centered on: analyzing the characteristics and identifying key issues of each local commercial district; exploring operational plans for a one-stop support center for small business owners; developing flagship cultural content to ensure the sustainable growth of commercial districts; and establishing asset-building measures to strengthen the self-sufficiency of merchants.

An official from Pocheon City stated, "This research project is an important first step toward strengthening the competitiveness of local commercial districts and creating a commercial environment that citizens and small business owners can tangibly experience," adding, "We will actively reflect voices from the field and expert advice to establish an implementation plan for building a commercial-friendly city that suits the specific conditions of Pocheon City."

The research project to establish an implementation plan for the Pocheon Commercial-Friendly City Development Project is scheduled to be completed by May 1, following this kickoff briefing, an interim briefing, and a final briefing.
