On February 4, the city conducted winter safety inspections by successively visiting Yuldong Senior Center and Ilsan Senior Welfare Center, both senior welfare facilities within the city.

On that day, Mayor Lee visited Yuldong Senior Center in Ilsandong-gu, which local seniors use on a daily basis, personally checked the operating status of heating equipment and the overall safety of the facility, and then spent time communicating with the seniors.

In particular, given that this is a space where seniors vulnerable to the cold stay, he focused on checking whether the heating systems were operating properly, how fire prevention was being managed, and the condition of aging facilities.

Mayor Lee asked after each senior using the center one by one and listened to their difficulties, saying, "We will manage the senior center with even greater care so that it can serve as a warm and safe shelter for seniors."

At Ilsan Senior Welfare Center, which he visited next, a more systematic safety inspection was carried out, as it is a complex facility used by a large number of seniors.

Mayor Lee personally toured various parts of the welfare facility, including the Go room, table tennis room, and billiard room, to check for aging facilities, and examined in detail the safety of user traffic routes and shared spaces.

Mayor Lee said, "There must not be even minor risk factors in welfare facilities that seniors use every day," and asked officials at the welfare center to "pay special attention to safety management so that both seniors and their families can feel at ease."

Meanwhile, based on the results of this inspection, the city plans to take immediate action for any facilities that require repairs, while continuously strengthening on-site responses and support measures to protect vulnerable groups going forward.
