Shinsegae Department Store has elevated the quality of its ultra-premium holiday gift set line, "5-Star," to a new level.

The 5-Star gift sets are premium gourmet gifts curated by Shinsegae buyers, who personally discover renowned production regions across Korea and strictly manage the entire process of production, cultivation, and processing according to rigorous standards. The criteria for attaching the Shinsegae 5-Star logo are known to be extremely demanding. In all categories, including meat, fresh produce, and seafood, freshness and sweetness are only the basics; size, shape, color, and marbling must all meet Shinsegae Department Store's stringent in-house quality standards.

"Shinsegae Luxury Korean Beef," selected by dispatching buyers directly to the Eumseong Public Wholesale Market, the largest Korean beef auction market in the country, has increased the share of the top marbling score of grade 9, the highest grade this year, by more than 50 percent. Representative products include "Luxury Korean Beef The Signature" (3 million won), "Luxury Ranch Korean Beef Special" (1.6 million won), and "Luxury Gourmet Korean Beef" (950,000 won).

"Shinsegae Luxury Fresh Produce" is filled with products from famous orchards across the country that have been discovered through extensive on-site sourcing. Representative examples include the "Luxury Select Farm Hamper" (270,000 won), which elegantly presents top-quality fruit in a paulownia wood box, and the "Luxury Apple and Pear Assortment" (220,000 won), which combines popular fruits made up exclusively of large, carefully selected pieces.

"Shinsegae Luxury Seafood" is also subject to 5-Star's unique and rigorous standards. For the flagship item, cutlassfish, only extra-large Jeju cutlassfish over 1 meter in length, which account for less than the top 5 percent of auction volume, are used, and only yellow corvina that have grown for more than 3 years and measure at least 28 cm are selected. Key products include the "Luxury Wild King Abalone Set" (1.2 million won), "Luxury Jeju Winter Cutlassfish" (600,000 won), and "Luxury Traditional Yellow Corvina Special" (1.2 million won).
