Lim personally prepared presentation materials titled "A Whimoon Life Without Regrets" and gave a lecture in front of parents. Known in particular for his outstanding performance in mathematics, he said, "Solving roughly 2,000 problems for each school exam helped build my mathematical stamina," and added, "I recommend studying in a way that prepares you for problems that require critical thinking."
He then told the prospective first-year high school students, "School grades and the CSAT are not a matter of choice; you have to carry both through to the end," and added, "Their importance will likely remain the same even under the revised grading system."
He also mentioned the importance of self-management. "It may be a difficult request, but I strongly recommend a complete break from smartphones and games for three years," he said, emphasizing that "it greatly helped my concentration and immersion." He then added, "On the day I finished all my exams, the joy I experienced for the first time in three years was quite nice."
Meanwhile, Lim was admitted to the Department of Economics at Seoul National University through the 2026 academic year early admission process. Having graduated from Whimoon Middle School and Whimoon High School, he is known to have maintained top-tier grades in the humanities track throughout middle and high school. To support her son's education, President Lee changed her registered address in 2018 from Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, and recently moved her residence back to Itaewon.
When Lim enters Seoul National University, he will become an alumnus of the same university as his uncle, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong. Chairman Lee was admitted in 1987 to the Department of Asian History at Seoul National University.
