Gumi City and Gumi Electronics & Information Technology Institute: How Will the 2026 Youth Startup Support Program Work?

Applications accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the 27th
Up to 8 million won for space and rent support for female entrepreneurs
Up to 14 million won in funding for young entrepreneurs

On February 2, Gumi City and the Gumi Electronics & Information Technology Institute announced the official launch of the "2026 Gumi City Youth Startup Support Program" to promote entrepreneurship among young people and women, and to strengthen the foundation for early-stage startups.


This program consists of two main initiatives: the Gumi-Young Startup Support Project for female entrepreneurs, and the 17th Gumi City Youth Startup Support Project for young entrepreneurs. It offers broad support, ranging from prospective founders to those in the early stages of starting a business.

The "Gumi-Young Startup Support Project" targets female entrepreneurs who have been in business for less than three years (including prospective founders), providing support for remodeling costs and monthly rent. A total of 10 participants will be selected, with each receiving up to 8 million won to help secure a stable business space.


The "17th Gumi City Youth Startup Support Project" is a program for young entrepreneurs who have been in business for less than one year (including prospective founders), offering startup activity funds, general entrepreneurship education, and business development funding. A total of 12 participants will be selected, with each receiving up to 14 million won in startup funding.


This initiative focuses on supporting the practical commercialization and growth of young entrepreneurs whose business ideas and products are in the final stages of development.


Moon Chuyeon, Director of the Gumi Electronics & Information Technology Institute, stated, "Through this youth startup support program, we will actively help local youth take on the challenge of starting their own businesses and achieve sustainable growth."


Applications can be submitted online via the Gumi Electronics & Information Technology Institute website. Applicants should download the application form from the business announcement section of the website, complete it, and submit it by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the 27th.
