It is considered a must-visit destination where visitors can experience the deep seasonal atmosphere amid the serene winter landscape of a mountain temple. The temple, set against a backdrop of dense pine forests, becomes even more picturesque in the crisp winter air, continuously attracting those seeking contemplation and healing.

Geogeumdo, a representative island travel destination in Goheung, is perfect for enjoying the open sea and tranquil coastal scenery in winter. The coastal ring road encircling the island and the grand Geogeum Bridge together create a landscape that offers visitors a sense of openness and peaceful relaxation. In particular, the clear and transparent winter sea and the silver-shining beaches further highlight the island’s unique poetic sensibility.

In addition, the Palyong Bridge, which connects Goheung and Yeosu, is gaining popularity as a winter driving spot. The majestic bridge spanning the open sea, combined with the winter ocean views, offers a unique spectacle both day and night. The sunset and nightscape at dusk have also made it a popular photo spot.

Maesaengi kalguksu, a noodle soup generously filled with maesaengi, offers a refreshing yet deep flavor that warms the body during the cold winter months.

Oysters, which are also in season, are another key ingredient representing the taste of Goheung in winter. Fresh oysters can be enjoyed in soups and a variety of local dishes, serving as the centerpiece of the winter dining table in Goheung, capturing the freshness of the sea.

An official from the county’s tourism policy office stated, “Winter in Goheung is a special season where nature and food are in harmony,” adding, “We hope that tourists seeking quiet travel and healthy food will create warm winter memories in Goheung.”
