Daewoo E&C announced on February 2 that it has been selected as the contractor for the Shinimun Station area urban maintenance-type redevelopment project in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
This project involves the construction of seven residential buildings ranging from four basement levels to 40 above-ground floors, totaling 1,200 households, along with neighborhood living facilities. The construction cost is 529.2 billion won (excluding VAT). The site is close to Shinimun Station on Subway Line 1 and the Dongbu Expressway. Nearby amenities include Kyung Hee University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Jungnangcheon Stream, Cheongnyang Neighborhood Park, Uireung, and several libraries. A new underground passage will also be built to allow students to walk safely to the nearby Imun Elementary School.
The new apartment complex will be named "Prugio Aperta," reflecting the meaning of "open." A shared community facility offering scenic views from the 40th floor will be included. A large plaza will be created in the center of the complex. The company explained that the buildings will be arranged to maximize open space, and the design will connect the nearby mountains and streams to create an open living environment.
