Ascon Industrial Cooperative Donates Funds to Gwangju-Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae

The Gwangju-Jeonnam Ascon Industrial Cooperative and the Jeonnam Ascon Business Cooperative jointly donated a total of 20 million won, 10 million won each, to the Gwangju-Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea to support care for neighbors in the local community. The Gwangju-Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju-Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on February 1 that the Gwangju-Jeonnam Ascon Industrial Cooperative and the Jeonnam Ascon Business Cooperative jointly donated a total of 20 million won, with each contributing 10 million won, to Gwangju-Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae to support care for neighbors in the local community.

The donation ceremony was held on the morning of January 30 at the Gwangju-Jeonnam Ascon Industrial Cooperative, located on Sangmu-daero in Gwangju. The event was attended by Im Kyungjun, Chairman of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Ascon Industrial Cooperative, cooperative members, Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, Kim Donggeuk, Secretary General of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae, and other related officials.

Since 2020, the Gwangju-Jeonnam Ascon Industrial Cooperative has been leading the spread of a culture of sharing in the local community by making continuous donations through initiatives such as the "Hope Sharing Campaign." The funds delivered this time will be used to support neighbors in need and social welfare facilities in Gwangju and Jeonnam, and are expected to provide practical assistance in stabilizing the lives of vulnerable groups and addressing gaps in the welfare system.

Im Kyungjun, Chairman of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Ascon Industrial Cooperative, said, "We joined forces with our members out of a desire for our neighbors to have a warm and happy winter," adding, "Although it is a small gesture, we hope it will offer comfort and strength to those in need."

A representative of Gwangju-Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae stated, "The consistent spirit of sharing demonstrated by the Gwangju-Jeonnam Ascon Industrial Cooperative serves as a great example for the local community," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that the donated funds are delivered transparently and responsibly to those who need them most."
