Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on January 30 that it has signed a business agreement with the social cooperative Hangang to promote ecological activities along the Jungnangcheon stream in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The two parties have agreed to work together to protect and improve the ecosystem in the Jungnangcheon area and to enhance biodiversity. Jungnangcheon is the largest tributary of the Han River within Seoul and is actively used by citizens. Due to the proximity of various residential facilities and buildings, there is a high risk of ecological damage. Under this agreement, Daewoo Engineering & Construction plans to conduct volunteer activities with its employees, including cleaning up Jungnangcheon, restoring vegetation, and creating habitats for endangered species. The company also intends to establish a symbolic space, “Daewoo Engineering & Construction Nature,” to embody its commitment to environmental values.
