Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Coupang for Fifth Day Over Personal Information Leak; Vast Amount of Data Causes Delays

The police have conducted a search and seizure at Coupang, which was responsible for a large-scale personal information leak, for the fifth consecutive day.

The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency carried out a search and seizure at Coupang's headquarters office in Songpa-gu, Seoul, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on December 13, 2025, totaling 8 hours and 30 minutes. This marks the fifth day of the police's search and seizure at Coupang's headquarters since December 9. It appears that securing the data is taking time due to the vast amount of digital materials held by Coupang.

Based on the collected materials, the police plan to track the whereabouts of the former Chinese national employee suspected of leaking personal information, while also examining the technical vulnerabilities of Coupang's internal management system.
