According to Jeonju University on December 11, the meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives from industry, academia, research institutes, and government, including Bae Juhyun, Director of the Clean Energy and Hydrogen Division of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, Kim Youngkwon, Director of Jeonbuk Technopark, and Yang Junho, Head of the Energy Business Division at Saemangeum Development Corporation.

The participants engaged in active discussions focusing on issues related to distributed energy in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.

The meeting began with a seminar by Song Gil-mok, Director of the Electrical Safety Research Institute under the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation. Director Song presented on "Energy Transition and Electrical Safety Technology," outlining strategies for establishing a mid- to long-term electrical safety management system in the energy industry, strengthening public services, and advancing core technologies to prepare for future energy environments.

Following this, Kim Eunsu, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Jeonju University and Head of the Distributed Energy Division, along with Bae Juhyun, Director at Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, shared regulatory exemptions and requirements for four specialized distributed energy regions, leading an in-depth discussion.

The meeting also addressed the achievements of the Distributed Energy Division in 2025 and operational plans for 2026. Key accomplishments included two new projects: a demonstration study on establishing a carbon-free energy power trading platform based on RE100 industrial complexes, and a demonstration project for AI-based active distributed energy integrated management and carbon asset linkage. Additionally, the discovery of new policy initiatives, hosting of forums, and the addition of 11 new participating organizations were reported.

The participants agreed that the creation of RE100-dedicated industrial complexes, the clustering of advanced companies based on these complexes, and the establishment of a clean energy-based industrial cluster should lead to enhanced industrial competitiveness and job creation in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.

Meanwhile, Jeonju University plans to continue contributing to the transition to clean energy and revitalization of local industries through collaboration among industry, academia, research, and government, and to take the lead in realizing RE100 in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.
