Ulsan Eliya Hospital (Director: Jung Younghwan) has received an A grade in the "2024 Integrated Nursing Care Service Performance Evaluation" organized by the National Health Insurance Service.
In particular, the hospital has drawn attention by ranking within the top 10% among the 709 medical institutions nationwide that operate integrated nursing care service wards.
The integrated nursing care service is a program in which professional nursing staff-including nurses, nursing assistants, and ward support personnel-provide 24-hour nursing care without the need for guardians or caregivers to be present.
The integrated nursing care service ward at Ulsan Eliya Hospital opened with one ward and a total of 34 beds in 2021, and has since added beds each year. Currently, all hospital beds are operated as integrated nursing care service wards.
The "Integrated Nursing Care Service Performance Evaluation and Incentive Payment System," first introduced in 2019, is conducted by the National Health Insurance Service to encourage the expansion of program participation and improve the treatment of nursing staff, thereby enhancing the quality of inpatient services. Based on the evaluation results, incentives for improving the treatment and working environment of nursing staff are provided to each hospital at different levels.
The evaluation was conducted based on the operational performance of the program, divided into evaluation indicators and monitoring indicators. The final evaluation converts scores in 10 categories to a 100-point scale, applies additional or deducted points, and assigns hospitals to one of five grades: S, A, B, C, or ungraded, depending on the results.
Kim Eunju, Head of Nursing, stated, "Ulsan Eliya Hospital has continuously worked to improve the quality of patient-centered medical services through facility renovations, strengthening infection prevention activities, and providing education to ease the burden of caregiving. I believe that receiving the A grade is the result of our ongoing efforts to address areas that needed improvement, and we will continue to do our best to further enhance the quality of integrated nursing care services through ongoing attention and support without becoming complacent."
