First, in the Jangheung area, a representative winter destination, the 13th Yangju Snow Flower Festival welcomes family visitors. In addition to the main snow sledding course, more than seven themed sledding and snow play areas have been created, including the tandem snow sledding area, the toddler snow sledding area, the ice sledding area, the basin sledding area, the cushion sledding area, and the snow play plaza, ensuring fun for all ages. Furthermore, a smelt fishing experience zone, food court, food trucks, and fish cake stalls are also available, with both online reservations and on-site ticket purchases improving accessibility.
The nearby Starbucks Gana Art Park branch enhances the indoor winter experience with its "Kids Barista Class" and "Christmas Season Diorama."
Songam Space Center has expanded its special winter programs, adjusting weekend operating hours to Saturday daytime and nighttime observatory sessions (1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and Sunday daytime observatory sessions (11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). Through the "2025 Songam Space Center Special Christmas," visitors can enjoy a planetarium, cable car observatory viewing, lunar rover operation, Challenger Learning Center space science tours, and a Santa photo zone, offering a unique "space + Christmas" experience.
Dooly Land, a family-friendly attraction, has strengthened its indoor and outdoor experiences by operating the premium kids' profile photo program "A Special Day for Our Child" and the "Yangju Insect Museum Package."
Gisan Reservoir, which recently completed waterfront improvements, is gaining attention as a more pleasant winter walking destination. A series of popular local caf?s with panoramic views of the reservoir allow visitors to enjoy warm drinks while admiring the winter lake scenery, making it a popular "emotional outing course."
In particular, a new winter-themed sculpture is scheduled to be installed at the Gisan Reservoir Skywalk in December, which is expected to become a new photo hotspot.
In the Gwangjeok area, winter-themed exhibitions and performances continue. The KH Philux Lighting Museum, in celebration of the Christmas season, is presenting a special exhibition titled "Gifts Exchanged on a Winter Night," featuring lighting art, and is also running the family-friendly music and dance play "Christmas Journey," further enhancing indoor cultural content.
A city official stated, "From sledding and space experiences in Jangheung, to winter-themed tourism and caf? streets at Gisan Reservoir, and exhibitions and performances in Gwangjeok, every corner of Yangju is filled with the unique charm of the winter season. We hope that many people, including families, couples, and friends, will choose Yangju as their winter travel destination."
