Jinan County to Host "Winter Fairy Tale Festival" on December 13-14

Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will host the "Jinan Winter Fairy Tale Festival - Christmas in Maisan" at the Maisan Northern Rural Theme Park Square from December 13 to 14.
According to the county on December 9, this event is a family-friendly winter cultural festival co-hosted by Jinan County and the Jinan County Tourism Association. It is designed so that visitors can enjoy Christmas-themed performances, games, hands-on activities, and food all in one place, running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The festival is open to both local residents and tourists, operating as an open event to ensure that winter visitors can enjoy a warm and enriching time together.
At the festival venue, a variety of programs will be offered, including Christmas performances (musical gala show, bubble show, magic show, and more), play zones (ice rink, mini train, carousel), hands-on programs (slow mailbox, mini tree making, dalgona candy experience, Santa tarot, photo booth, etc.), a bonfire zone, food booths, and a flea market.
In particular, the acrylic ice rink, which was very popular with family visitors last year, will be set up again this year, and a new carousel will be introduced to provide an even richer play experience for children.
Additionally, a "human curling" program will be held at the ice rink, offering participants a unique winter activity.
Furthermore, winter-themed photo zones, Christmas trees, and illuminated installations will be set up throughout the festival grounds. The pop-up store featuring Jinan County’s mascot "Ppamang-i" will be redecorated and opened for the Christmas season, allowing visitors to capture memorable moments in photos.
Careful preparations have also been made for a warmer and more enjoyable festival, including dome tents and heaters. To ensure safety and prevent accidents, the organizers have expanded insurance coverage and on-site staff, and are conducting safety inspections of amusement facilities, paying special attention to safety management from the preparation stage of the event.
A county official stated, "The Jinan Winter Fairy Tale Festival is designed as an event where both residents and tourists can experience the charm of Jinan's winter and create warm memories together," adding, "Going forward, the county will continue to revitalize the region by attracting tourists through year-round tourism promotion."
