Student teams from the Regional Specialized Youth Trade Expert Training Project Group (GTEP, led by Director Ahn Taegeon) at Pukyong National University won awards in all three categories at the 19th GTEP Youth Trade Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA).
The Youth Trade Awards is an event designed to assess university students’ practical trade skills and to identify outstanding examples of activity. This year, out of 124 teams from across the country, 24 teams advanced to the finals held at COEX on December 1, 2025.
The three student teams from the GTEP Project Group at Pukyong National University received awards in all three categories: export marketing, regional specialization development, and youth entrepreneurship.
The Potential Team, consisting of students Park Jungyeon and Park Geongyeong from the Department of International Trade, and Kim Nahyeon from the Department of Statistics and Data Science, won the Encouragement Award in the export marketing category for their export marketing support activities that combined expertise from different majors and achieved actual sales.
The Bisang Team, made up of students Son Youngtaek, Kwon Hyukje, Kim Yurim, Park Jiweon, Joo Eunhye, and Heo Tae-eun from the Department of International Trade, received the Association President’s Award in the regional specialization development category for supporting export planning and marketing for small and medium-sized enterprises in Busan, leading to successful entry into overseas markets.
The Manoa Team, composed of Kim Chaeyeon from the Department of Global Liberal Arts, and Kang Dahye, Kim Jaehyeon, Lee Gyeongseo, Choi Sumin, Choi Yuji, and Hwang Jeongwon from the Department of International Trade, received the Association President’s Award in the youth entrepreneurship category for their entrepreneurial achievement of directly planning a body care brand, registering the brand name and logo design as trademarks.
With these awards, the GTEP Project Group at Pukyong National University has demonstrated the effectiveness of its practical trade skills-focused education and the capabilities of its students. The group plans to further expand practical support for local small and medium-sized enterprises and export beginners, thereby strengthening export capabilities based in the region.
