"Who Will Be the Next Bong Joon-ho?"... Busan Broadcasting Video Forum Holds Busan Video Contest Awards and Seminar

Awards Presented for 17 Works
Seminar on "Production of Digital Video Content Based on AI and AX" Held

"Why should we film Busan right now?" People who read the city through light and frames gathered together.


The Busan Broadcasting Video Forum (President Kim Chiyong, Professor of Game Engineering and Director of External Cooperation at Dong-Eui University) held the "20th Busan Video Contest Awards Ceremony and Seminar" on December 5, 2025, from 4 p.m. at the Public Hall on the 2nd floor of the Busan Audience Media Center.


The event was hosted by Professor Jung Miyoung of Tongmyong University, with about 150 participants including Kim Chiyong, President of the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum; Kim Deokyeol, Chairman of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute; Bae Hyosoon, Director of the Busan Audience Media Center; Gong Jihun, Executive Director of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute; Jung Kyunghee, CEO of Yeonje Community Radio; award recipients; and Busan citizens.


During the seminar, presentations were given on the theme "Production of Digital Video Content Based on AI and AX" by Kim Sunghoon, Head of the Busan Joint Research Office at ETRI; Kim Changho, Director of DM Studio; and Lim Haksoo, Principal Researcher at KIOST.


Following this, the second part of the event featured the awards ceremony for the 20th Busan Video Contest, presenting one Grand Prize, one Excellence Prize, two Merit Prizes, ten Encouragement Prizes, and three Special Prizes.


The Grand Prize was awarded to Oh Seungjong, Kim Kimin, Park Eunji, and Jung Yujin from Kyungsung University for their work "Busan's Sea Is on Your Side," receiving the Busan Metropolitan City Mayor's Award and a prize of 2 million won. The Excellence Prize went to Kim Donghyun, Kim Minjun, Jung Jaemin, Lee Changhoon, and Park Hyemin from Dong-Eui University for their work "A Page of My Youth Left in Busan," receiving the Chairman's Award from the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute and a prize of 1 million won.


The Merit Prizes were awarded to Eom Seungsam, Kim Kyungno, Kim Duran, Kim Junghui, Oh Woojin, Lee Jonggil, Jung Jugwan, Choi Bokdong, Han Jongmin, and Hwang Soyoung for their work "I Am Busan," as well as to Kim Seungho, Kim Sookhee, Park Seoksung, Park Youngja, Lee Youngho, and Han Younghwa for their work "That Theater Back Then and Now."

Kim Chiyong, President of the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum, stated, "This event not only introduced new content in broadcasting and video, but also became a meaningful occasion as many people from all generations participated, including seniors in their 80s. Recently, Busan declared its goal of reaching 5 million foreign tourists. Through great content that showcases Busan's history and culture, the Busan Video Contest should play a key role in promoting the city. We will further expand the contest to achieve this."


The Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and the Busan Audience Media Center, under the Korea Communications Agency, accepted entries for the "20th Busan Video Contest" from October 1 to November 9, 2025, on the themes of "Busan and Youth," "Busan as a Maritime City," and "Busan's History, Culture, and Arts." A total of 85 works were submitted.


After the awards ceremony, to mark the 20th anniversary of the Busan Video Contest, special appreciation plaques were presented to Park Jinhyun, Director of KBS Busan Broadcasting Bureau; Lee Osang, CEO of KNN; and Choi Byunghan, CEO of MBC, representing the three major broadcasters in Busan. Appreciation plaques were also given to six industry representatives: Kwon Ohjun, CEO of DM Studio; Park Sunghwan, CEO of K2; Park Younggi, CEO of Sign Telecom; Lee Jaeyoung, CEO of K3i; Lee Hyunho, CEO of Global TopNet; and Jung Kangseon, CEO of PN. In addition, achievement awards were presented to Professor Wi Janghun of Kyungsung University's Department of Media Contents and Professor Hwang Sanghyun of Dong-Eui University's Department of Advertising and Public Relations.


Furthermore, the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and The One Korea (CEO Jo Sunkyung) also held a business agreement ceremony to promote the growth of global cultural content value and the activation of collaborations with Wanghong influencers.

More than 150 professionals and practitioners in broadcasting and video content participate in the forum.
