Yangsan City Unveils Treasure Map... Finalizes "12 Scenic Views of Yangsan"

Reorganizing Yangsan’s Signature Tourist Attractions Ahead of the 2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan
From “8 Scenic Views of Yangsan” to the Addition of Hwangsan Park, Beopgi Water Source, Yangsan Tower, and Gayajin Shrine

Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province has unveiled its previously hidden scenic wonders to the world.

On December 2, Yangsan City expanded its existing “8 Scenic Views of Yangsan” and, after years of discussion and verification, officially designated the “12 Scenic Views of Yangsan,” which encompass twelve representative sites that span the city’s natural and cultural resources.

This reorganization focused on promoting balanced regional tourism development and discovering new charms of Yangsan.

The original 8 Scenic Views of Yangsan included Yeongchuksan Tongdosa Temple, Cheonseongsan Mountain, Naewonsa Valley, Hongryong Falls, Baenaegol Valley, Cheontaesan Mountain, Obongsan Imgyeongdae, and Daewoonsan Natural Recreation Forest. Newly added to complete the list of twelve are Hwangsan Park, Beopgi Water Source, Yangsan Tower, and Gayajin Shrine.

In particular, Hwangsan Park, newly included as a tourist destination, is gaining popularity as a year-round family attraction, while Beopgi Water Source is becoming known as a healing spot thanks to its tranquil Himalayan cedar forest trails and waterfront scenery.

Yangsan Tower, a landmark of the city, is evolving into a complex tourist destination with enhanced night views and observation content. Gayajin Shrine, designated as a provincial cultural asset for the Gayajin Dragon God Ritual, is highly regarded as a cultural attraction where visitors can appreciate both its historical significance and the beautiful surrounding landscape.

With the official designation of the “12 Scenic Views of Yangsan,” the city plans to strengthen external promotion in connection with the “2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan,” and to implement various programs, events, and infrastructure improvement policies to vitalize stay-type tourism.

The city especially aims to attract more tourists by developing tourism courses centered on the twelve scenic sites, launching programs linked to local businesses, and producing promotional content for social media.

A city official stated, “The newly organized 12 Scenic Views of Yangsan were selected based on citizen feedback and expert evaluations, and represent Yangsan’s signature tourism brand,” adding, “To successfully promote the 2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan, we will publicize the city’s attractions nationwide and secure new growth engines for the tourism industry.”

Yangsan City expects that the announcement of the 12 Scenic Views will widely promote the region’s hidden tourism potential and contribute to attracting more visitors and revitalizing the local economy.
