Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 5 that it will be accepting resident proposals for the '2027 Han River Basin Outstanding Resident Support Special Project' and the 'Eco-Friendly Clean Project' until January 9 of next year.
This call for proposals aims to discover and expand highly effective projects that reflect the unique characteristics of the Han River basin area, focusing on projects that residents can tangibly benefit from, such as improving the living environment, building eco-friendly infrastructure, and conserving the ecosystem.
The Outstanding Resident Support Special Project targets initiatives that directly contribute to improving the living environment of residents in water source management areas, preserving water quality, and facilitating a low-carbon, eco-friendly transition. The main proposal areas include four categories: income-increasing projects, welfare enhancement projects, educational support projects, and pollution purification projects.
The Eco-Friendly Clean Project focuses on reducing environmental pollution, conserving ecosystems, and introducing sustainable eco-friendly technologies. It is also aligned with Gapyeong County’s vision of “a city where nature flourishes into the economy.” In particular, the county is seeking competitive proposals for new initiatives such as the introduction and development of eco-friendly technologies, sustainable eco-friendly agriculture, establishment of eco-friendly production systems, water quality improvement and conservation, and other environmental improvement projects.
Gapyeong County expects this call for proposals to serve as an important opportunity to strengthen the community’s settlement and improve the living environment. The county plans to maximize the selection rate by incorporating resident feedback, conducting preliminary feasibility studies, and promoting interdepartmental collaboration to enhance the completeness of each project. Selected projects will be submitted to the Han River Basin Environmental Office’s call for proposals in February or March of next year.
A county official stated, “This call for proposals is an important opportunity to improve the local environment and enhance the quality of life for county residents. We will do our utmost to thoroughly prepare and achieve tangible results that residents can truly feel.”
Applications may be submitted via email, fax, or mail (to the Environment Division of Gapyeong County Office). For those who wish to submit in person, applications can also be received at the administrative welfare centers in each township or town. The county will inform townships and relevant departments of the schedule and procedures, and will systematically supplement project plans by sharing best practices and consulting with experts.
