Starbucks Korea announced on December 2 that, following last year, it has once again partnered with the note-taking application Goodnotes to launch a digital planner this year. The digital planner is an additional benefit provided only to customers who have completed the e-Frequency program and reserved and received a physical planner.
This year, in order to broaden the range of users, Starbucks has newly introduced a digital planner giveaway event exclusively for members of its university student membership program, Campus Buddy.
The reason Starbucks releases a digital planner every year is rooted in the consumption patterns of Generation Z, who are accustomed to digital experiences. The company has continued to strengthen its connection with younger customers by expanding the Campus Buddy program and launching new menu items such as matcha and pudding cream that cater to youthful tastes.
This year’s digital planner also reflects this trend. In line with Generation Z’s emphasis on individuality, Starbucks has increased the number of “decorative diary” features, such as Bearista character stickers, beverage and food stickers, and emoticons.
This planner is designed with a “magazine-style planner” concept. It features content that appeals to Generation Z’s preference for recording their tastes, including a mood tracker for documenting emotions and thoughts, a Starbucks tracker for logging beverages and experiences enjoyed at stores, and a “My OOTD” section for capturing daily fashion. This year, support for Android devices has also been expanded.
To further boost Generation Z engagement, Starbucks is holding a special event for Campus Buddy members. From October 30 to December 7, Campus Buddy members who have collected at least seven e-Stickers will receive a digital planner. In addition, from December 8 to 21, an “e-Sticker School Competition” will take place. The top five schools will be selected based on event participation rates and the number of stickers collected by school, and all participating students from these schools will receive rewards.
The school that ranks first will receive Starbucks planners, digital planners, and a three-month Goodnotes trial pass. The second-place school will receive Starbucks calendars, digital planners, and a three-month Goodnotes trial pass. Schools ranked third to fifth will receive digital planners and a three-month Goodnotes trial pass.
Meanwhile, the Starbucks “2025 Winter e-Frequency” event will run until December 31. Customers who purchase a total of 17 handcrafted beverages, including three mission beverages, via Siren Order or in-store, and complete the e-Sticker collection, will be eligible to receive gifts on a first-come, first-served basis.
