Nexen Tire Drives Performance with 'EV Route' Covering Both Electric and Combustion Vehicles

Record-High Domestic Sales in the Third Quarter

On December 2, Nexen Tire announced that it has strengthened its product lineup by launching the 'Enfera Supreme' and 'Enfreeze S,' both equipped with 'EV Route' technology that covers both internal combustion engines and electric vehicles.

'EV Route' is Nexen Tire's exclusive certification mark, granted to tires that deliver optimal performance not only for internal combustion engines but also for electric vehicles.

The 'Enfera Supreme,' launched in August, is an enhanced version of the premium comfort tire that has sold more than 2 million units in Korea. This upgraded model offers improved high-load capacity and low-noise performance. It features technology to withstand heavy loads and incorporates sound-absorbing materials to reduce road noise during driving. With a wider contact patch and 3D kerf (fine grooves on the tread surface) technology, it delivers consistent braking and handling performance throughout all four seasons.

The 'Enfreeze S,' introduced last month, demonstrated a 14% improvement in mileage and a 10% reduction in rolling resistance compared to previous models, according to the company’s own tests. Its braking performance on snowy roads has also improved by 11% compared to similar products. The optimized tread pattern design reduces noise by 4%, providing a comfortable ride for electric and hybrid vehicles alike. This product is scheduled for release in the United States in January next year.

By strengthening its premium product lineup, Nexen Tire achieved its highest-ever quarterly performance in the third quarter, recording domestic sales of 138.5 billion won, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. To celebrate the launch of the Enfreeze S, Nexen Tire is offering gift certificates and prize events to customers who purchase at participating Tire Tech and Tire Bank locations nationwide until the 31st.
