Daesang Cheongjeongwon announced on December 2 that it will launch two new products in its “Hongcho Winter Edition” line, which can be enjoyed as warm beverages ahead of the winter season.
The two winter limited-edition Hongcho products-“Low-Sugar Pomegranate & Hibiscus” and “Low-Sugar Yuja & Chamomile”-are specially designed for warm drinks. By incorporating hibiscus and chamomile, which are popular ingredients in herbal teas during winter, these products allow consumers to enjoy Hongcho as a soothing tea without the pronounced tanginess of vinegar, resulting in a smooth and fragrant experience. Another advantage is that, unlike regular teas, there is no need to brew a teabag or dissolve powder; simply mix the product with hot water and it is ready to drink.
“Low-Sugar Pomegranate & Hibiscus” blends European pomegranate concentrate with tangy hibiscus for a refreshing yet sweet flavor and aroma. “Low-Sugar Yuja & Chamomile” combines sweet and slightly bitter Korean yuja with aromatic chamomile, creating a subtle herbal fragrance and a refreshing taste. Both products are functional foods containing indigestible maltodextrin, which is known to help suppress post-meal blood sugar spikes, and aloe gel, which is believed to support immune health.
These new products are low-sugar and low-calorie, made using allulose produced in-house by Daesang, and feature Daesang’s exclusive “LOWTAG” emblem. Each product contains only 4 grams of sugar and less than 35 kcal per 100 grams, reducing sugar by 74% and calories by 58% compared to standard drinking vinegars. When mixed with hot water at a 2:1 ratio of water to Hongcho concentrate, the sweet and tangy fruit flavors blend harmoniously with the smooth aromas of hibiscus and chamomile, making it an ideal warm beverage for cold weather.
