Song Eonseok, floor leader of the People Power Party, on December 1 urged the Democratic Party of Korea to accept a parliamentary investigation into the decision to drop the Daejang-dong appeal, stating, "We will not cling to the appointment of the opposition secretary for the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee."
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Floor Leader Song said, "No matter how the opposition and the judiciary try to frame this as a rebellion, the truth about Daejang-dong cannot be covered up."
Previously, the People Power Party agreed to accept the Democratic Party's proposal for a parliamentary investigation by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, setting three conditions, including the appointment of Assemblywoman Na Kyungwon as the opposition secretary for the committee. However, with the Democratic Party refusing to accept these conditions, the parties have failed to reach an agreement.

Regarding the upcoming pretrial detention hearing for former floor leader Chu Kyungho, who has been charged with 'participation in key insurrection duties,' Floor Leader Song criticized, "Jeong Cheongrae, leader of the Democratic Party, said that if the arrest warrant is dismissed, the blame will shift to Chief Justice Cho Huidae and the judiciary," adding, "He is blatantly exerting external pressure on the judiciary ahead of the warrant review."
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, also stated, "Democratic Party leader Jeong Cheongrae personally threatened the judiciary regarding the review of former floor leader Chu's arrest warrant," emphasizing, "I believe the judiciary will render a fair and just decision, undeterred by any external pressure."
