This program, conducted in connection with the RISE project, was a hands-on educational initiative in which local residents and current students participated together. It was held five times from November 12 to November 26. Each session was led by three professors from the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Bakery, with about 20 students and local residents participating, providing field-oriented education.

The curriculum included basic bakery and confectionery training such as dough making, baking, and plating, as well as recipe development and menu planning with a focus on health. It also covered the planning of bakery products that can be linked to community health services.

Lecturers included Professor Jung Kyungim of Silla University, Kim On, CEO of Chouette Bread, and Kim Taeho, CEO of Kim Taeho Pastry Shop. Drawing on their experience in store management, they shared practical expertise in menu development, customer service, and strategies for small-scale entrepreneurship.

Local residents who participated in the program said, "It was meaningful to gain hands-on experience in professional bakery practices, which are usually hard to access," and added, "It was an opportunity to learn not only as a hobby but also as a pathway to entrepreneurship and healthy food options."

Students commented, "Learning alongside local residents broadened our understanding of real-world customers," and shared, "We plan to leverage this practical experience in our academic courses to further enhance our expertise."

Hwang Inju, head of the RISE project group, stated, "This program is a representative example of how university education can be directly connected to the daily lives of local residents," and added, "We will continue to expand experiential education in various fields, including the lifestyle industry."

Silla University plans to expand hands-on education in connection with the local food industry based on its RISE-based industry-academia cooperation system, and will focus on nurturing talent for community coexistence across health services, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle-oriented industries.
