On November 28, President Lee Jaemyung nominated Kim Jongcheol, a professor at Yonsei University Law School, as the candidate for chairperson of the newly established Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission.
Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the presidential office, announced this and other ministerial and vice-ministerial appointments during a briefing at the Yongsan presidential office that afternoon.
Spokesperson Kang described nominee Kim as "a constitutional law scholar and media law expert with a deep understanding of the freedom of expression and its limits as guaranteed by the Constitution."
President Lee also appointed Ryu Sinhwan, an attorney at the law firm Jihyang, as a member of the Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission.
Additionally, following the resignation of former Vice Minister Lee Sangkyung, Kim Itak, an adjunct professor in the Department of Airline Service at Kyungin Women's University, was appointed as the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
