A Night of Healing Through Science... National Busan Science Museum Hosts "Nighttime Neuroscience Experience"

Tailored Programs for Adults, Families, and Children
Year-End Experience Events to Enjoy Neuroscience

For weary modern individuals, a special night awaits to give your mind a moment of rest.

The National Busan Science Museum (Director Song Samjong) will sequentially host nighttime science experience events and hands-on programs in December, linked to the joint special exhibition "Mind-Blowing Neuroscience."

This event is designed for a wide range of ages, including adults, families, and children, to make neuroscience easy and approachable through interactive experiences.

First, the nighttime science culture event for adults, "Relax Day with Serotonin," will be held at the National Busan Science Museum on December 6.

The event will be held twice for 120 adults, at 4:40 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Participants can enjoy the exhibition with a warm cup of tea and take part in sensory-based programs such as a brainwave stress test and a fun tarot reading.

Afterward, participants will split into two groups: an olfactory therapy team and an auditory therapy team, to join specialized workshops. The olfactory therapy team will experience aromatherapy with a perfumer and have the opportunity to create their own natural roll-on perfume. The auditory therapy team will relax their bodies and minds through yoga and meditation, feeling the vibrations of the meditation tool known as the "singing bowl."

In line with the sub-theme, "Busy, Busy Modern Society, Healing Through Science," the program will conclude with the distribution of refreshments that embody the meaning of both science and relaxation.

The nighttime science culture event for families, "Dopamine Party for the Whole Family," will take place over two days, December 13 and December 20, at the Kim Jin Jae Hall in the science museum.

This event is structured for 200 family visitors to tour the exhibition in a quiz stamp tour format, naturally introducing neuroscience through a variety of dopamine challenges.

During the dopamine challenge, participants can enjoy mission-based activities utilizing neuroscience principles, such as measuring reaction speed, experiencing a cat ear brainwave sensor, moving a cup with an electromyography robotic arm, and playing a sequence memory game.

Children and their families can prepare for the party by decorating with glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and enjoy the lively year-end atmosphere at the "Doomchit Doomchit Family DJ Party" with DJ Cell, accompanied by music.

The neuroscience experience program "Focus ON! Cube Challenge" will be held every weekend until December 7 at the Creative Lab in Kim Jin Jae Hall.

This program is designed to enhance concentration and thinking skills by understanding the structure and principles of cubes, solving cubes, and experiencing pixel art.

The program runs three times a day at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., and is open to all visitors from first grade elementary school students and above.

The joint special exhibition "Mind-Blowing Neuroscience" by the National Science Museum Foundation will be held at Kim Jin Jae Hall until December 21. This special exhibition allows visitors to see, hear, and feel neuroscience for themselves through a variety of interactive exhibits on the structure and function of the brain, the brain's role in daily life, and the future of neuroscience.

Kwon Sujin, Head of Science Culture at the National Busan Science Museum, said, "At this nighttime science culture event, Science at Night, we have prepared content that allows visitors to experience healing, fun, and learning all at once, in connection with the neuroscience special exhibition. We hope that everyone, from adults to children, will enjoy participating as the year comes to a close, relieve everyday stress, and develop an interest in neuroscience."
