A suitcase containing the body of a Korean man was discovered in a residential area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, prompting a local police investigation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is maintaining communication with local authorities regarding the case and will provide necessary consular assistance.
According to Vietnamese media outlets such as Thanh Nien and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City on November 24 (local time), Vietnamese police found a blue suitcase containing a man's body in a residential area of Ho Chi Minh City the previous afternoon. Police were dispatched to the scene after nearby residents reported a foul odor coming from the suitcase, and they recovered the body.
It has been reported that two men who were near the suitcase fled the scene in a taxi when residents began to gather. Local police have identified the deceased as a Korean national and are conducting a related investigation. In addition, two Korean men suspected of involvement have been detained and are currently being questioned.
Regarding the case, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City is closely communicating with local authorities about this incident and will continue to provide necessary consular assistance," adding, "As the investigation is ongoing locally, it is difficult to disclose specific details at this time."
