Korea Rural Community Corporation announced on November 24 that it won both the "Organizational Operations Management Award" and the "Evaluator Award" in the Internal Control Management Innovation category at the "2025 Korea Internal Control Management Awards" hosted by the Korea Internal Control Association.
Lee Kwangrae, Standing Auditor of Korea Rural Community Corporation, stated, "This award is significant as it recognizes that our ethical management system and audit activities for enterprise-wide internal control are delivering effective results," adding, "We plan to further advance the role of the audit office as both a monitor and supporter to establish a transparent and responsible management culture."
The Korea Internal Control Management Awards, organized by the Korea Internal Control Association, recognize outstanding institutions and companies in the public and private sectors that have demonstrated transparent and responsible management practices.
Since introducing its internal control system in 2022, Korea Rural Community Corporation has established a three-line defense model, in which the operational departments (first line), management departments (second line), and audit departments (third line) work together in close cooperation. In addition, by systematically applying the five key components of internal control outlined in the Board of Audit and Inspection's "Internal Control Guidelines for Public Institutions"-namely, creating a control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring-the corporation has proactively prevented the risks of fraud and corruption.
Kim Injoong, President of Korea Rural Community Corporation, said, "Internal control is an essential element of ethical management and the starting point for organizational innovation," adding, "We will continue to develop and implement various measures to ensure that internal control is embedded and advanced throughout the organization."
