[Click e-Stock] "Sapien Semiconductor Expected to Lead Full-Fledged Growth in Smart Glasses"

On November 24, Meritz Securities predicted that Sapien Semiconductor is expected to benefit from the growth of the smart glass market starting next year.

Yang Seungsoo, a researcher at Meritz Securities, explained, "We anticipate that the market for smart glasses equipped with displays, known as Type 2, will enter a full-fledged growth phase," adding, "Sapien Semiconductor's key clients are targeting the Type 2 market."

It is estimated that next year, Sapien Semiconductor will achieve sales of 3.61 billion won and an operating profit of 1.2 billion won. Sales are expected to increase by 100.6% compared to this year's estimate, and operating profit is projected to turn positive.

Researcher Yang stated, "At the beginning of this year, we expected the company to reach its break-even point this year," but analyzed, "The timing of reaching the break-even point was somewhat delayed due to an increase in fixed costs from workforce expansion." He added, "The workforce expansion is leading to an increase in the number of new projects with clients, and in the mid- to long-term, we expect these secured projects to translate into mass production sales that exceed expectations."

He also said, "As the smart glass market expands, LEDoS is expected to become a core technology," and expressed optimism that "as a key player in the value chain, Sapien Semiconductor's corporate value could structurally trend upward."
