University PR in the Age of AI: Nationwide Seminar for PR Officers Held 원본보기 아이콘

As the use of generative AI rapidly transforms the university public relations paradigm, 110 university PR officers from across the country gathered in Jeju to share practical strategies.


The Korea University Public Relations Association held its 2025 Fall Seminar, discussing field-oriented cases such as AI-based PR, student ambassador programs, advertising, and social media.


The University Public Relations Association (President: Hwang Eui-taek, Head of PR at Korea University of Technology and Education) announced on the 23rd that it hosted the 2025 Fall Seminar under the theme "Generative AI and PR Ambassadors: Our University's PR Story" at Ocean Suites Jeju from the 19th to the 21st.


This seminar was the largest since before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, with more than 110 participants from over 80 four-year universities nationwide.


The seminar consisted of five sessions in total, with a large number of university PR practitioners participating as speakers to share real-world case studies.


At the seminar, Yoon Seokbin, Special Professor at Sogang University, presented "Key Trends in Generative AI and Strategies for Enhancing University PR."


In addition, practical PR cases utilizing generative AI were introduced, including ▲press release writing (Hanyang University ERICA), ▲image and video production (Ewha Womans University), and ▲advertising production (Chonbuk National University).


Keimyung University, Sookmyung Women's University, and Pusan National University also shared their experiences operating student ambassador programs and explained the effectiveness of student participation-based PR models.


Furthermore, Yoon Jisun, Head of PR at Kwangwoon University, presented "A PR Professional's Self-Development Story," and networking programs were held in three subgroups: social media, media PR, and advertising.


Additionally, at the "University PR Awards Ceremony," a newly established commendation ceremony was held for the first time this year.


▲The Korea Council for University Education Award went to Choi Youngmoo, Manager at Daegu University; ▲the Korea Journalists Association Award went to Choi Yoonsik, Deputy Manager at Kookmin University; and ▲the Korea University Public Relations Association Award went to Han Kyungwoong, Manager at Hoseo University, and Kim Hangyeol, Staff at Tongmyong University, among others.


President Hwang Eui-taek stated, "To strengthen the competitiveness of university PR, we selected PR officers who demonstrated outstanding performance and dedication through recommendations from each chapter and a rigorous internal review process."


Meanwhile, the Korea University Public Relations Association is a nationwide PR network for four-year universities established in 1997, currently with more than 170 university PR professionals participating.
