The Carbon Neutral Point System (in the energy sector) is a greenhouse gas reduction program that provides incentives based on reductions in electricity, water, and city gas usage. To increase participation this year, the city has promoted a variety of activities, including operating mobile sign-up promotion booths, hosting events to certify new registrations, and running campaigns to promote carbon neutrality in daily life.

This year, 26 apartment complexes participated in the competition out of 377 complexes with more than 150 households in the city, and 595 newly registered citizens joined, contributing to reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Among them, eight apartment complexes were selected as outstanding and received plaques of recognition.

The top prize went to Gapho Kumho Eoullim NHF Apartment; the excellence prizes were awarded to Jinhae Seokdong Woolim Pilyu Apartment and Changwon Gapho LH Apartment Complex 1; and encouragement prizes were given to Wolyeong Hwain Apartment, Masan Gyobang Sangnok Apartment, Pung-ho Woosung Apartment, Changwon Songjeong Jugong Apartment, and Seongsan Samjeong Green Core Forest.

In particular, Gapho Kumho Eoullim NHF Apartment, which received the top prize this year, recorded 117 new registrations, achieving an outstanding result with a 31.5% increase in new participants over approximately four months compared to existing members. Masan Gyobang Sangnok Apartment demonstrated a high participation rate, reaching 93.9% participation within the complex.

Lee Yujeong, Director of Climate and Environment, stated, "The small actions of citizens in their daily lives come together to create a carbon-neutral city in Changwon," and added, "We will continue to provide various forms of support and promotion so that more citizens can participate in the Carbon Neutral Point System."
