Woori Financial Group's Woori Financial Future Foundation announced on November 21 that it received the Excellence Award (Financial Association President's Award) in the Institutional Category for Outstanding Financial Education Programs at the 20th Financial Contest awards ceremony.
This event, hosted by the Financial Supervisory Service, is designed to build public consensus on the importance of finance and financial education. In the outstanding program category, various organizations and groups actively engaged in financial education competed for recognition.
Woori Financial Future Foundation was recognized for the excellence of its specialized education program for young adults preparing for independence, "WOORI CHANCE for Self-Reliant Youth," in this contest. In particular, the foundation was highly praised for providing tailored education-such as fostering sound spending habits and establishing budget plans-by using its self-developed financial mentoring workbook, thereby making a tangible contribution to helping young adults settle into society and achieve economic independence.
"WOORI CHANCE for Self-Reliant Youth" is a program supporting both financial mentoring and savings incentives for young adults aged 18 to 29 who are preparing for independence. Selected participants who complete online financial education and deposit more than 1 million won in savings over six months receive an additional 2 million won in savings support, enabling them to secure more than 3 million won in practical funds for independence.
A representative from Woori Financial Future Foundation stated, "We are pleased that our program, designed to help young adults who have aged out of care build confidence in finance and lay a real foundation for independence, has produced positive results. We will continue to expand financial education in various forms for financially vulnerable groups in the future."
Meanwhile, Woori Financial Future Foundation also operates "WOORI Senior IT Happiness Learning Class," a digital financial education program tailored for seniors. Through this program, seniors receive practical education on topics such as how to use smartphones and kiosks, mobile banking, preventing financial fraud, and utilizing ChatGPT.
