Safe Living for Singles: Busan Urban Corporation Completes Pilot Project for Smart Safety One-Room Youth Rental Housing

Introduction of AI-Based Emergency Alerts and Intrusion Detection Sensors
Enhancing Residential Safety for Single-Person Households

Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) has completed a pilot project for smart safety one-room apartments for young people in cooperation with the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency to create a safe residential environment for single-person households, particularly young people and women.

This pilot project was launched to enhance the residential safety of youth rental housing, in response to the rising number of single-person households and the increasing concerns about crimes such as break-ins and stalking.

The pilot project introduced smart safety devices, including an AI-based emergency alert system and external intrusion detection sensors. The emergency alert system is designed to automatically detect danger signals such as screams, while the sensors identify external intrusions, enabling rapid awareness and response to emergencies.

These devices have been installed at two youth rental housing sites and are expected to significantly strengthen the safety environment for residents.

Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "We will continue to expand a safety network based on smart technology so that young people can enjoy a safer and more stable life," adding, "Building on this pilot project, we will further strive to enhance resident-centered safety management and improve residential welfare."
