Sungkyunkwan University Samsung Changwon Hospital has been selected for the second consecutive time as a "Nursing-Care Integrated Service Panel Hospital," organized by the National Health Insurance Service, making it the only hospital in the Gyeongnam region to achieve this distinction.
The panel hospital designation is a certification system that recognizes excellence in the operation of nursing-care integrated services. It is granted to medical institutions that implement the program as a model and meet appropriate size and facility standards.
Since launching the nursing-care integrated service in 2017, Samsung Changwon Hospital has been recognized for its operational capabilities and service quality, being the only hospital in Gyeongnam to be designated as a leading hospital for the nursing-care integrated service and selected as the first panel hospital. In January of this year, the hospital expanded its nursing-care integrated service beds to 412 beds (across 8 wards), accounting for 65% of all general beds, thereby further enhancing the hospital’s expertise in treating patients with severe, emergency, and rare diseases, as well as raising patient safety standards.
Meanwhile, the nursing-care integrated service is a program introduced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2015 to reduce the burden of caregiving on the public. It provides inpatients with 24-hour integrated nursing and caregiving services delivered by professional nursing staff.
