Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, visited the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 19th and stated, "We will do our utmost to remove the shackles that are holding back businesses."
At the "People Power Party-Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Policy Meeting" held at the Chamber Lounge of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul on this day, Jang remarked, "I question whether the Lee Jae-myung administration is truly creating a business-friendly economic environment," adding, "It is the government's role to break down regulations with a focus on growth."

Song Eon-seok, floor leader of the People Power Party, also emphasized, "It is urgent to introduce policies to improve the challenging business environment, which is characterized by the so-called 'Yellow Envelope Law' (amendments to Articles 2 and 3 of the Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act) and even tougher commercial laws," and added, "We must establish a system that provides structural incentives, including tax and financial measures, so that growing companies can expand even further."
They also responded to the business community's requests for regulatory reform. On this day, representatives from the business sector, including Choi Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lee Hyung-hee, Vice Chairman of SK Group, Ha Beom-jong, President of LG, Lee Tae-gil, President of Hanwha, and Choi Seung-hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, were present. The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered 30 improvement tasks based on their analysis of legislative issues, including: ▲ prompt legislative support for crisis-hit industries such as petrochemicals and steel ▲ careful review of extending the statutory retirement age and introducing reemployment ▲ alleviating the burden of industrial electricity rates ▲ and introducing production tax credits.
Park Sung-hoon, chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, met with reporters after the meeting and explained, "The party will play an active role in promoting special legislation for crisis-hit industries, depending on the outcome of the subcommittee discussions," and added that requests for reductions in industrial electricity rates will be supported in the short, medium, and long term.
Regarding the issue of extending the retirement age, he said, "Jang expressed agreement with the suggestion that it is necessary to devise flexible and reasonable measures, such as reemployment after retirement," and added, "We also believe it is important to develop measures to ensure that youth employment opportunities are not reduced."
