Chungnam Province has publicly disclosed the personal information of 533 individuals who have evaded tax payments for over a year and are classified as high-value or habitual tax delinquents, declaring its strong commitment to collecting delinquent taxes. The total amount in arrears reaches 21.7 billion won.

On November 19, the province published the list of 533 high-value and habitual tax delinquents, who have repeatedly failed to pay local taxes and local administrative penalties or surcharges, on the provincial website and the integrated local tax system 'WETAX'.

The individuals subject to disclosure are those who meet the following criteria: more than one year has passed since the delinquency occurred, and the amount in arrears is at least 10 million won in local taxes or local administrative penalties or surcharges. The final list was confirmed following a review by the Local Tax Review Committee in October.

The total amount in arrears stands at 21.7 billion won, with 16 billion won owed by 416 local tax delinquents and 5.7 billion won owed by 117 local administrative penalty or surcharge delinquents.

The disclosed information includes the name or business name, age, occupation, address, and amount in arrears of each delinquent. This information can be found in the 'Announcements and Notices' section of the provincial website, and is also available for search on WETAX.

A provincial official stated, "Even after the disclosure of the list, we plan to continue intensive collection activities such as home searches and compulsory disposition of delinquent assets," adding, "We will continue to take action to raise tax awareness and realize tax justice."
